The Doom Loop
Project Details
The Doom Loop is a promotional website for economist Eswar Prasad’s book of the same name, which examines the destabilizing forces reshaping the global economic order. For this project, I handled the site’s design and front-end development, creating a clean, editorial layout befitting a serious nonfiction work aimed at policymakers, economists, and general readers alike.
The site is structured around the book itself, the author, endorsements from prominent economists and public figures, press coverage, articles, and events, with a homepage that rotates through blurbs and pulls together video, purchase links, and recent media hits. Given how much of the site’s content is press-driven, the design needed to accommodate a steady stream of incoming reviews and mentions, presenting them in a scannable, visually consistent way as coverage rolled in.
The result is a polished author site that functions as a hub for readers, journalists, and reviewers, giving the book’s ideas and reception a clear, credible home online.
