Role: Designer & Front-End Developer

Problem

Economist Eswar Prasad needed a promotional site for his book The Doom Loop, aimed at policymakers, economists, and general readers alike. The site needed to feel credible and editorial rather than like a typical marketing landing page, while also being built to absorb a steady, unpredictable stream of press coverage as it came in.

Process

  • Designed a clean, editorial layout suited to a serious nonfiction work, balancing visual polish with the tone the subject matter demanded
  • Structured the site around the book, the author, endorsements from prominent economists and public figures, press coverage, articles, and events, with a homepage that rotates through blurbs and surfaces video, purchase links, and recent media hits
  • Anticipated that press mentions would arrive on an ongoing, unscheduled basis, and designed the coverage sections to present new reviews and mentions in a scannable, visually consistent way as they rolled in, rather than requiring redesign each time

The Outcome

A polished author site that functions as a central hub for readers, journalists, and reviewers, giving the book’s ideas and reception a clear, credible home online.
